Does anyone have any personal or additional photos of the 6 CAF P-47's from when they were all painted in different markings? .... I have seen only the photo of the 6 in perfect formation. Would love to see a shot of all six parked on the ground.

And where are they now? all 6 still around?

Those P-47s belonged to Ed Jurist, not to the CAF. The arrangement under which they were all assembled, painted and flown for a short time by CAF pilots is rather murky to me...They were never titled to the CAF...I believe most of the six still exist. The only CAF-owed P-47 is an N model currently being rebuilt by CAF Colonel Doug Jeanes..

That's interesting Shep, I wonder why they were all added to the CAF's old airsho inventory booklet? I believe in the 70's. Still I would love to see some photos of all together again. That was a very cool thing to happen back then. I wonder who picked and painted the schemes on all of them. And why that was done at all. Just some questions from a true Jug lover.

Nothing like having 3 pairs of jugs all in one viewing ... lolol

I think I have one of the group on the ground. Can't remember who sent it to me though. Will try to find it.

I seem to remember that the story of how those P-47's came out of Peru was quite a remarkable one. IIRC Jurist was actually poisoned by persons unknown after he'd made the payment. Does anyone know the real story?

Now those photos are very cool, I wonder why there were not more photos taken of these 6 back then. They all have wonderful paint schemes. I guess in the seventies, there wasn't as much interest as there is today, could you imagine that lineup at an airshow today, hopefully, TOM will have an even larger fleet parked like that.

Six or eight parked together and you wouldn't need no Viagra for a month.

What an amazing time and place. I would love to see the that number of P-47s returned to the sky together next year. There was video shot of of this original formation too.

That would be nice to see as well. Are there, or has there been any T-bolts with a two seat configuration?

Little Demon had two seats.

This original picture was on our wall when I was growing up and was damaged by water. I wish I could replace it with a new one.




These were taken by my dad but I was too young back then to remember this.

Chuck any guesses who would have been flying the six. Your dad, Lefty, maybe Archie? the others?

You have me confused with Ladd Gardner, his dad is Lefty. My dad, Charles, was involved with the CAF too in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. There was Henry Gardner, Max Gardner and Ronnie Gardner too. It should have been the GAF.

I have no idea who was in the photo plane.
