Frank Tallman / Paul Mantz - circa 1960 question

Thu Dec 16, 2004 12:19 am

I'm hoping there might be a slim chance that someone who frequents this board might have a tie to anyone that might have been associated with Frank Tallman's operations back during the 1960ish years.

I can't locate any living witnesses to his warbird activities during that time. Thanks for any info!

Read Tallman's "Flying the Old Planes"...published by Doubleday, 1973.
It has Tallman's thoughts about restoring and (but mainly) flying some of the planes in his collection, everything from a SPAD, Nieuport, Fokker Dr1, to F4U, B-25, B-15, and P-40...one of his favorites.

Also Scott Thompson writes about Tallman's work on Catch 22 in his "B-25 in Civil Service.

Also, Tallman wrote about flying the Grumman Duck for an article in Flying magazine in 1972...check a library for back issues.
