Very rare image of the airplane but in lower horizontal tail configuration:

Just to note that I have download this image somewhere from internet long time ago. If anybody recognize this image please let me know to place proper photo credit or to remove image from public display. personally I am interest in hi resolution version of this image.

P.S. I beleive that this imnage is public domain but where is it... ? National Archives, US Navy...

I have not been fortunate enough to see the cockpit, but I have gotten to see the plane "up close and personal".

Boy, that sure shows the aircraft is in worse shape than when it went to Quonset. Bird droppings and peeling paint amidships. Maybe the salt air environment isn't so good for the aircraft's complexion?

Yes, I've observed a marked deterioration since I first saw it in 2001.
