I say, trunk that M.F. and bring it down to the ranges here in AZ... lot's of stuff to shoot and no-one would bother ya none! Perhaps another passtime activity for a group-meet here for WIXers!

Shoot on Sunday??? Heck, with our local club, when you join, they give you a key to the range - open 24/7! :shock:

Down here, we've got the club range, a sporting clays range, a "now and and again" range, and a loooonnngggg range (300 - 1000 meters, computer-controlled).

So what is the deal with the 300-1000 yard computer range? Please explain. I love long shots and that interests me.

I've always toyed with the idea of picking up a AK but the AR-15 , M1A and a few other US service rifles call my name first.

The M1 is a beautiful and fun rifle to shoot a lot of history to boot! I got the chance to use mine in a "farm defense" situation once, now that was fun :lol:

hey Steph, how does the selector switch on that thing flip? On the Ak it goes safe, full auto, single shot. Is it reversed on the M70?

If you're talking about a "real" Yugo, the selector positions are the same as you described. But of course this rifle does not have the full boogie option, hence safe & semi only. :wink:

I thought I remembered that. I got into an arguement once with a serb about whose weapon was better and embrassed him. They're still designed to throw lead just like an old '47. If the SS goes safe semi auto, you cen betthe designers intended the weapon to be aimed instead of sprayed. Bad sight design too, if I remember.

Sorry Stephanie. Not to demean your weapon. It won't make a bit of difference to you--the accuracy and such aren't that different at short ranges, and it's a heck of an addition to your collection! Now you need to find yourself a 7mm Magnum for that important shot

Nice gun Collection......... Looks Like Miss Stephanie is on her way to becoming a gun collector...cool.
The M-1 Garand is a beautiful weapon, and as previously mentioned, the 30.06 is a "cheaper" round to by. Additonally, should the events of the future ever come to pass where you need to roam to survive, your chances of finding .06 rounds are far greater. With the outskirts of the Outer Limits put aside, the most destintive feature of the M1 Garand, is the "Ping" sound the weapon makes as the magazine is ejected out of the magazine port immediately following the last round fired. In Korea during that war, the Chinese would base their "charging" US forces on the "Ping" noise, as they then knew that the US forces were reloading, giving them the opportunity to advance. Great gun though, and though I do not know you Stephanie, you are exactly the way you are supposed to be.

Start saving Joe, start saving, check for estate sales etc my mother in law got rid of her husbands rifles and then told me about her selling all of them to a guy for a hundred bucks......you will never guess what was in the "collection". yup a Garand, a Springfield M14 a genuine M1 .30 cal., talk about wanting to vomit. She said that she didn't think I'd be interested in them.........Oh..let me go puke

Not the 74, you won't. I outshot him solidly through 180 rounds (all I had on me at the time). Not nearly as accurate as an A2 at 300 meters.
