Ouch, sorry to hear about the guns you could have had from her. :(

Thanks, will try to save for one. What I really need to find a job where I'm making more money. <sigh>

I understand that the Garand uses a "clip" I was merely giving an example, and yes I realize that folks in here like for everything to be correct in every detail. The Ping of which I referred to is what I have read, and heard of. I know that when I shot my M-1 Garand, that there was a definite PING when the clip was ejected.

..Another "urban legend". I asked my father about that, as he was Infantry in both in the Korean War (25th Div) and WWII (30th Div). The same thing was made in WWII. His comment was that, after the first few rounds, you didn't have enough hearing left to hear any "ping". This was confirmed by a former neighbor in Florida, who had been on the German side in France. His comment was that one didn't have the time, inclination, or hearing left to be concerned with such a thing.

Also as a note, the M1 does not have either a magazine nor a magazine port. The empty clip is ejected out the top of the receiver.

I wouldn't be so hasty on that. I've read, watched, and heard several interviews by WWII vets who would fire 7 rounds, take an empty clip, throw it on the ground (to simulate the noise of the empty clip being ejected) and then the enemy would pop up thinking that they were reloading and our guys would then take them out.

Which 30-40 Krags do you guys have, I believe some were manfactured as bolt action and lever action. I prefer the bolt, while the lever looks more "High Tech"

I'm getting tired of all this weapons talk. I'm still waiting for someone to offer to adopt me so that myself & my flying can be supported!!!!!! BTW, I know a bit about firearms, too!

My divorce won't be final for a few more months. And I won't be able to support your flying habit. But I'd let you run around the living room flapping your arms and making "vroom" noises if you like.
