I had been hoping Sergeant Pooner would write the ending to the “STOLEN” aircraft cockpit and put it to rest, however that has not been done. He says:
“I bought "The Admiral" in February 2006 directly from the owner. I have a bill of sale. I have a cancelled check. I have the entire series of logbooks and paperwork on the airplane from her birth at Douglas Aircraft.”
On June 24, 2005, ABS Aviation Development, LLC, by contractual agreement purchased all assets, rights, title and interest in Biegert Aviation and Farwest Air from the two owners. One of those assets was the “Admiral” which was and still is FAA registered to Biegert Aviation (N44915). Ultimately, Pooner did not buy the “Admiral” from the new owners of Biegert Aviation and/or Farwest Air as his check would have indicated the payee ABS Aviation Development, LLC.
Due to a conflict with the Gila River Indian Community, all commercial tenants were to be evicted on December 7. 2007 at 5:00 p.m. and any personal property left on the premises were to be confiscated by the tribe to do as they pleased. The “Admiral” being personal property of ABS Aviation Development, LLC was sold to a young man to prevent the tribe from destroying it. Should anyone care to see ABS Aviation Development purchase documentation of Biegert Aviation/Farwest Air, our attorney would be happy to send them an email copy along with the currently available online FAA registration. Hopefully this will put an end to the “STOLEN” Admiral Byrd.” daucharrington@hotmail.com

Dauc...I'm a little confused now....last November when I asked you about the DC-7 cockpit section (Admiral) , I asked you who it belonged to...you replied to me that you had no idea.....So, I found out later, and I informed you of the owner...his name..., etc
Prior to the Indian takeover, you called me(Dec 4, Tues) on my cell, asking me to have the owner Pooner" to call you.....to let him know about the airport closeure on the upcoming Friday, and that he needed to get his aircraft removed from the airport before the deadline.
I contacted Pooner, then he in turn returned your call and had a discussion with you....
So like I said, now I am really confused, if you owned it, why didn't you know it? When I told you who owned it later, why didn't you set me straight? Maybe I'm way out in left field, so please help me get my bearings...Gary

Hello to all that have been commenting on the event "Stolen Warbird". I would like to thank all of those who have been level headed and were wanting the complete story before launching all aircraft for a search and destroy mission. I would like to introduce you to my wonderful brother, Corporal Daniel Warren. Dan, would never knowingly remove property that didn't belong to him. Please be aware he is a former Marine and knows how to defend family and self. Please note my brother welcomes all to participate with his new project. As long as you are friend and not foe of course. My little brother, who is 6'3", is very kind and helpful to those in need. He is also extremly patriotic, notice the flag proudly displayed in his back yard, on Ruud Leeuw's web site. My brother is and has been very pasionate about early aircraft, he, like myself, talk to the old birds that have been cast aside. Oh, by the way, he does sit in the cockpit tippen a beer and talking to the "Admiral" about her old adventures. He lets her know that her next adventure will be with families, friends and those who are curious. He's already been able to replace several items that were removed from her console. His wife is supportive of his creative ideas, heck, his son already wants to move in. We are very hopeful all the confusion around the Admiral will be cleared up soon and a final story can be written on this event.

Yup: Sounds like it took him 20 years to make Corporal. I mean we each progress at our own rates through the system. It may have taken him some time to get there or maybe he went up and down in rank. He may well have been a 4 Star General at one time. We don't know...........

No matter the out come, there has been a lot of good communication between all parties. My brother would love to keep the Admiral as this has been his dream for as long as I can remember. What ever is decided my brother will honor that decision. As for now he is enjoying his time with the plane. Finding replacement parts and cleaning her up.

Retired Corporal?? Did I understand that right? SO RETIRED or MEDICALLY DISCHARGED? Retired are those who spent there CAREER in the military with 20 good years.
Please correct me if Im wrong.....

Issue still sounds very very very shady.............. It seems to me if Pooner or his museum owned it and the "Retired Corporal" stole in a matter of shady politics, it sounds like stealing to me. Politics cant explain or make right someone taking an entire cockpit section of an aircraft and claim that Pooner of all people in the world was going to scrap it.

Excuses need to get better.

Here's what we have -

1) Pooner says he purchased the plane from the original owner in 2006.
2) ABS Aviation Development, LLC, say they bought the assets of the original owners 2005 say they never sold him the aircraft nose section which was included in that sale.
3) ABS Aviation Development, LLC, says that they sold the nose section to Mr. Dan Warren.
3) Dan, the current possesor of the aircraft nose section is a FORMER Marine Corporal.

So, this is now for the police and court to sort out because what we have is two entities (Pooner and ABS) who disagree who owned the cockpit section. Sound familiar? I can think of a certain aircraft in a certain West Texas city that is in the middle of a similar disagreement. It's not a unique thing. Let's wait until the court decides this.

Also, re-read the post by Sam Warren. No where does he use the word retired, only former, so stop making stuff up people, it only makes you look worse when you continue to try and defame the character of Mr. Warren and his family by putting words in their mouths. Let's not start mud-slinging again when this guy appears to be innocent party in the whole deal and the issue is between Pooner and ABS, not Pooner and Mr. Warren.
