People,
On February 18 1945, an "American bomber" - believed to be a B24 - crashed at Nadzab airport, Lae, hitting the HQ of Lae Area Workshops. Two on the ground were killed, the CO and the Chaplain.
As the 5th had moved north since then, there is a fair chance it wasn't one of theirs, although I believe that a conversion unit was still operating from Lae at that time. That leaves RAAF.
How can I go about finding out more about the incident? The war diaries of Lae Area Sub-base have very little info on the type of plane or the cause.
All help greatly appreciated.
