i'm currently reading eddie rickenbacker's autobiography. his background with cars was ground floor & pretty extensive in his youth. after his stellar ww 1 contribution he went into the car business creating & manufactoring his own designs. they were quite attractive & very innovative, but his company was short lived. my question is.... do any of his car products survive in museums such as the henry ford museum or smithsonian, or with private collectors?? i'd love to see some current pics.

Eddie owned the indianapolis 500 and the hulman family purchassed the assets.. They are not the type of people to sell stuff. they probably still have some of his stuff in their massive warehouses.. They also have a museum at the 500 track.

:?: :?: :?: wow that is fabulous speculation!!! hope to see more!! & hope it's true!!! how did you get the "in" on that info as to the family collection disposition?? i'd bet that ole eddie tied up his estate in trust with tight strings, as he was an incredible business man. i bought a signed & cancelled check of his back a few years ago at a nice price, & it's a great addition to my collection. dated 1969 for $1400.00 or so bucks to an insurance company.

I knew the Hulman family but it has been years since I have seen Tony George.. Their warehouses are like a museum and they have cars stashed all over the place... Tony Hulman was a big car collector and and had 4 or 5 guys just restoring cars.. the 500 museum only has a fraction of the Hulman collection..
