Taken at Podunk Int. Airport.

First guess (without checking refs) would be a Fleet Fort wing.
RCAF training colours / roundel
Acute sweep / curve to l/edge
outboard light / accessory in l/edge.
Too small to be a Bolly wing?
The white stripe/area is intriguing.

Looks a little bit like a Bolingbroke wing and is that a bristol mercury exhaust collector ring sitting just under it?

Definitely NOT a Fleet Fort; the aileron angle's wrong.
I'd agree with Peter, on reflection, but haven't found or disproved that access hatch on the l/edge.

James.
It could be from the port wing and a machine gun hatch

I was leaning towards the Fort, but now I agree it's a Boly. A little Googling turned up this drawing...check the port wingtip.

I didn't think that at first, as there's no machine gun or ammunition that far outboard on an aircraft of the period.
But looks like Steve's got it! Thanks.

I forgot about those hinged panels I should know as I have seen them on our Bolingbroke. Where is this located?

Looks like somebody used that poor roundel for target practice.
What's the Canuckian equivalent of "redneck?"

can you post a picture with the whole wing in the picture?

It is not as bad as some I have seen!

Yeah, where is this located? Doesn't look much loved!

I wonder what else is there? And when did the Canucks start using that maple leaf insignia? Was that post-war?

"Red Green"?
A little duct tape'll take care of those bullet holes, eh?

All Commonwealth Empire forces used the red-white-blue roundel during W.W.II. The maple leaf, roo, kiwi and so-on postdate W.W.II. AFAIK, the only 'official' variation was the South Africans using orange rather than red.
