For you shooters out there.....not sure if you've seen this. Truly amazing, and the reason my club insists on paper targets only....

I had something similar happen when shooting a .22 pistol. Only I was shooting paper targets backed up by an earthen berm. After I squeezed off one shot, I saw something fly back over my head and land behind me. Later, when I went back to the towel I had my gear laid on, there was a spent .22 round sitting in my open pistol case.

It was quite a surprise that a round would ricochet out of an earthen berm (probably with some rocks in it somewhere) and towards the shooter, but it was a million to one shot that the round would land in my pistol case.

Not the targets....The back-stop. Shooting a .50 in what appears to be a rock quarry isn't the best move....

Amazing! I had my share, in my case of pure stupidity, when I was really young with a .50 bullet and a Colt .45. Two different stories that if it wasn't for SomeOne I wouldn't be writing this now.

In one of my more stupid moments, I used an old Korean-war era steel-pot helmet as a backstop in my .22 target box. With the open end toward the target...and the shooter.

On my first shot the round hit low on one side, traveled around the inside of the helmet, and passed between me and my friend.

We packed up the rifle and box, and went home.
