See this video about how changes to ebay are making serious problems... and forcing people to avoid it.

If changes under the new CEO do go hed entirely.. we all will be suckers for been on ebay it seems. The CEO calls buyers and sellers "noise" and doesnt like us. They thuink fees are good for their pockets but dont care it will cause buyers and sellers harm.

Worse off is changes to Paypal it seems they will??? hold money for 21 dys from us in some situations?

Not happy

This belongs in Off-Topic.

What a bunch of whiners anyhow. If you don't like eBay's business model, do your business elsewhere. When the profits go down, things will change.

A strike is a waste of time. Only a small percentage of the population will even have heard of it. If you made your living on eBay, would you give up nearly 1/4 of your month's income to support this?

How did people sell their junk before e-bay was established?

If e-bay is not convenient, take your business elsewhere.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_auction

There's a list of about a dozen sites that sell via online auctions. There are plenty of other places to do business online if you're so motivated.

WHERE EXACTLY?

I wouldn't know. I don't buy nor sell anything on ebay. But, those who do, I am sure are smart enough to find alternatives.

Civilization, commerce and entrepreneurs, existed long before Al Gore invented the Internet.

Business deals were conducted through advertising in newspapers, or by other means.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

ebay is not the only site on the web where wares are sold or bought.

Saludos,

Tulio

Yes, there are other alternatives, like what Chico posted, but eBay is by far the largest one around and widely accepted worldwide. I am an eBay buyer but not a seller. I have friends all around this world and most buy things that they would never ever find in their countries. For me that’s the big deal. Since I’m not a seller I can’t comment much on the video, but I do not agree with the one sided detail rating buyers give to sellers. It shouldn’t exist at all. Some sellers have 100% feedback scores, but the detail ratings for them do not reflect that. So what’s wrong?
In all my searches for aviation memorabilia, the most reliable one still is eBay. You find these items in websites all over the Internet but I have lost money with them, but not on eBay until now. I agree that some sellers are not as professional as others, but I have nothing to complain.

Do these "alternatives" have the consumer base that ebay has? That's my point.

I've sorta found a nitch on ebay with my photos.
Most everyone else is selling cr*p photos or on junk paper out of their printers. Good product,
fair price and I stand behind my stuff.
Also have made a number of friends and been contact by a number of families delited to find photos
of their loved one's.
Joe Foss's daughter for example and some kin of AVG members. 8)
