There was an A6M7 Zero recovered from this lake in the 80's or early 90's. It has been nicely restored and on outside display.

Anyway, I know after WW2 The Japanese officials had several Jakes sunk in the lake by puncturing the floats. Has anyone recovered these yet?

How was the A6M7 recovered in the 1980's then, if the constitution was written after WW2?

Anything in Japan can't be recovered.

You could probably marry a JASDF General's daughter, and get him to do it for you.

While your checking lakes in Japan try Hamana lake near hamamatsu.Large lake only about 20 miles from the Heavy bomber base in Hamamatsu. Base had Ki-21, Ki49, Ki-67. Bombers plus Fighters.

That would be awesome, unfortunately the Japanese are very funny almost secretive. It's strange, but there are none on this discussion board. Almost none will talk about warbirds. Almost like the Zero never existed.

Hey Mike:

I don't know, haven't heard anything about it. The only intact Frank that I know of was #S17; saved by the Planes of Fame, and then sold to Japan. I believe that is the only known Frank in existence.

That was a Shinden Kai 'George' , not a Frank.
