It was said that Stuka flew a few missions in the Belle, and then went on the warbond tour with them. Jim Verenis said that Stuka stayed with them in some of the finest hotels, and ate steak for dinner every night. He lived out his years at Jim's home.

You can also see some of the names that were signed onto the fuselage. When the paint was removed, these names can still be seen etched into the metal.

Jim was a great guy and fun to talk to.

He lived the next town over from me and we spoke occassionally. The most memorable time was actually having dinner with Jim, his wife, and Bob and Linda Morgan. I was the only other person at the table and it was really nice and quite an honor.

I miss those guys.

Thanks for posting the photo!
Blue skies,
Jerry

I had the honor of being a guest of Linda Morgan's during a ceremony at the Belle for Robert's birthday. It was pretty special. I can only imagine what that dinner you were at must have been like.

I think that in many situations over the many years, might be some validity to this... They are pretty amazing creatures that possess such great qualities.

Here's my kids. Sorry, no aircraft involved and since the shots, Napoleon has moved on to join my Pop. Little Tempelton has a new companion now and is doing well. As are we...
