In the March Air Classics the cover story is about the transformation of the CAF's LB-30 to a B-24A by none other than Gary Austin! Congrats Gary on a fine job.

Thanks Pat. I know that Air Classics isn't necessarily a WIXer's favorite, but it was a nicely written article that gives us some good PR and was rather flattering to me at times.

We have been quite fortunate to have received nice coverage in many great magazines like the article mentioned here, Warbird Digest, Fly Past,
and even the Robb Report, among others. (I know I've forgotten a couple here, but it's been a long day...so I apologize.) Frankly, WIXers have been the best audience of all. The support, help, and constructive questions from all of you are still something that gets discussed here at CAF HQ frequently.

Thanks!!!

Gary

Hey, I even bought a copy of this issue! Gary -- how did you like working with my old friend Phil Makanna? He is one of my real heroes -- one of the major figures in bringing Warbirds to a wider audience with his "Ghosts" books and calendars. A great photographer and a really good guy...

Phil was great to work with! We even went up for a few air to air shots of Maybee's Baby after the B-24 stuff was done, just so I could have 'em for my "I love me wall" at the house. It's not every day that you get Phil Makanna to take awesome air to airs of your little Formula One racer. :D
