I have had the occassional contact with Sergei and all I can say is that he is the 'middle man' for one of the major Russian players over the years in the recovery of aircraft in Russia. The 'major player' has the reputation for shall we say 'mood swings' bought on by too much vodka
Nevertheless he has exported several nice wrecks to the West, including the FHC P-40 and our own P-36 wreck.

Interestingly enough:
I have dealt with Sergei. I was interested in buying his Zero later on; but he wants someone to pay him to a lump sum before hand to restore it, and trust him to do it all in Russia!

Here's Sergei's site,

I wonder if the 109F is one of the ones listed on Preservedaxisaircraft.com.
Bf109F-4/Z 7504 Russia CR White 10 3./JG3
Under restoration to flying. wreck consists of good engine, damaged wings and fuselage parts.

O.P. No it isn't that 109F, that is owned by a guy in Moscow.
Decided it was prudent to delete the rest as it is still 'ongoing'.

Thanks for the warning Dave, my feeling is that Sergei is unfamiliar with western business practices.

Hi! I am Sergei Stepanenko. I have read this discussion with interest, thank you for the attention to our projects.
I do have few remarks. The Zero which we offer is not owned by any another westerner and no court case is pending. The 'major player' is a sober man and never drunk " too much vodka".We do have some ww2 aircraft projects to offer , but the restoration work should be done in Sant-petersburg ,Russia.Regards and a Happy Year!

Sergei,
What about the Hurricane restoration that was going on in Russia some years ago? Photo's were also aired on Barnstormers. Was that your work?
Cheers

Sergei
I was reffering to the Zero taken from Orenburg, if your boss has another I apologize.
From my experience of Russia, you ALL drink too much vodka

Dave!
The plane do from Orenburg , but I am empowered by the 'boss' (Victor)
to declare that he has all legal rights on the Zero and it "is not owned by any another westerner and no court case is pending!"
about the detailes you can write to me directly.
ssn@mail.wplus.net
and we continue the dispute about the drinks

Sergei

Hi Sergei!
Can you tell us the werk# of the 109, the history and condition of it. I'll understand if you can't, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks,
Orvis

Sergei
I spoke to the U.K. owner of the aircraft late last year about it, but perhaps things have been 'settled' since that time, I will get an update from him and contact you off board.
regards
Dave
