There is also an article on Fantasy of Flight whsih says "a container stored Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, believed from Venezuela" has arrived

Could this be the one in WD 4

Unknown Serial P-47D (FAV 15-B36)
reported stored El Libertador AB, Maracay in 1990

It kind of fits?

I saw it on Kermit's backlot tour on 4/4/04. It was in a container outside one of the hangers,(wings off) The tour guide opened the container door and there it was, the front end of a P47 looking at me. Was kinda tight but I climbed in as far as I could. I was so surprised I never even took a photo. By the time I turned around the group had moved on.
There are so many things there, you can be overwhelmed

Would love to see a photo posted here.

David - Yes please - But I wondered why you did not quote the serial in the article?

Paul - I wasn't 100% positive on the identity so it was safer to let people decide for themselves.
