I thought I'd heard that Jim Frye won the case (or somehow settled the suit) against the USAFM, but that's pure rumor at this point. I figure it'll be obvious enough when the P-82 gets rolled out for restoration.

I don't know if this means anything or not, but it is registered with the FAA to a "company" in Minnesota, which I was led to believe is Mr. Frye's company.

So maybe it has all been worked out.....

Steve

I don't think the registration data tells us anything. I seem to recall the company being the registered owner before the suit was filed.

There was an article in Air Classics some years back about a P-82 being sent to Minnesota for restoration. I was under the impression this was the Walter Soplata bird and not the CAF one...or are they both in Minnesota?

The ex-Walter Soplata P-82E initially came to Minnesota via Amjet, which soon sold it to another owner based at Anoka, one of our local warbird hubs. The ex-CAF P-82B was also sold to an owner in Minnesota. The ex-Soplata P-82E is under restoration at Anoka, I don't have a firm answer for the current location of the ex-CAF P-82B(I've heard it's in Breckenridge).
