Hello, I'm new here. I posted this on another forum and someone there told me that I should post it here also....so here it is. My Grandfather was going through some pictures one day and found this photo he took while in France during WW2. He said that he had no idea what it was...just a few little tidbits of info from others on the base. He said at the time no one was allowed around it because it was top secret....but he snapped a pic when no one was looking. He gave it to me since I had an interest in aircraft. Just thought I would share....kinda neat I think.

I think it would be safe to assume that the "mph" should read "kph" though.

Fantastic. It's great to see photos that have probably never been published before. Now the big question is- Might this be the one that the NASM has?

However, "Young Skywalker" your job is to make sure you and your Grandfather get as much time together as you possibly can. Do not do it to make us happy...do it out of respect for the great man he is and for what you can keep forever. You need not share one moment with us.

We as an American culture, I am sorry to say (married to a Cherokee descendant) do not generally respect our elders. I lost my Dad following the same ideals. Now I want to know and he is gone...

Do not make the same mistake. Treasure but do not exploit. You need never divuldge any info he may share with you, but take it all in for what it can do for you. He will never exist again.

uh, no. (wrong thread I think.) I saw this right after the other thread too. I thought we discussed the racer with the twin V-8's and the attic fan for a prop here awhile ago.

I am sure you must be right. My point was that with the exception of the front engine/prop, the concept for the racer shown at Barnstormer's seemed pretty similar. Not trying to divert the thread...
