I could have sworn it was. I seem to remember an article in an Air Classics or Warbirds about the ferry flight for it to be placed on a ship to go to Pearl for filming. FHC also indicated it was still in its movie paint.

'fraid not, Mike. Definitely not. Wrong P-40. This one was last painted in the markings of AVG Veteran Erik Shilling, who was able to see the restored aircraft before he passed away a couple of years ago.
The history of the P-40C is here. This one was a real time capsule when discovered. It had 'US Army' lettering under the wings, RAF roundels, and Russian stars painted over the top of all this. A small-calibre bullet hole (entry and exit) in the oil tank clearly showed what brought it down over Russia.
I'll scan in some detail shots from when it was at Duxford (when I can dig them out) and post them up on my webshots account.

From what I've heard, they're having 4 Jumo engines rebuilt with new turbine blades. They're a pretty secretive bunch though, it's very hard to get any firm info on their restoration projects.
Forgot one other detail...

...they will also be adding a V-2 rocket to their collection! I think this is very cool. I assume this will be their acception to the rule about it being a flying collection!

If I remember right, the Spitfire at FHC is Mk.Vc AR614, which was owned for many years by Don Campbell of Kapuskasing, Ontario (who also had a Tiger Moth, an ex-RCAF Vampire F3, and what is now Bob Jens' DH Mosquito). Certainly your description fits a Vc. It went to the UK when Don parted with it and was completed there iirc.
This Spitfire was marketed in mid-1998 as part of a "Battle of Britian Flight" together with Hurricane AE997 and Bf109E-3 Nr1342. The Spitfire and Bf109 were both owned by The Alpine Fighter Collection, and the Hurricane by Hawker Restorations (Sir Tim Wallis was a partner in the company).
The Hurricane went to Tom Friedkin, and the 109 went to FHC with the Spitfire.

Maybe we should do a WIX meet. I want to do the walk around at the PoF to photograph any new stuff. I also want to go to Yanks, especially for the inside stuff. What else is in Chino that allows photography?

Well, you could always try to talk your way into Aero Trader or Tallichet's junkyard. And look into open hangars for any other treasures. There is at least one Mustang under active restoration in one of the North hangars, and another I think in dome hangar #2 (the one Paul Mantz flew a Stearman through in "Keep 'Em Flying").
