When they raised the plane, the tires were still fully inflated. They look like you could just mount them on new rims and use them - if you need diamond pattern ice tires.

Scott, no need to create a spot on the registry for this B-17. Its 44-83790. Also check for info I have submitted about this plane in the submit@warbirdregistry.org Pt

Nope - no plans to go back to find (& recover) the tail section. The fuselage is in worse shape than the wings (and I know I need to post those pictures to the web site (real soon now...)) and there's no reason to suspect that the tail will be in any better shape, if they can find it.

They are tracking down other leads for replacing the missing waist and tail section.

Thank you, but that wasn't me. Don Brooks did the recovery and owns it. I just had the opportunity to go down there and help a little with the cleanup as the first step in the eventual restoration to flight.
