Well now, if no one can decide, how about a B-29 or maybe a PBY or something on those lines? Plenty of Nice Round Engines. And Sleek Profile...........! Or, if all else fails, I'll throw my vote behind a 4" WIX Corsair.

Or how about the front silohette of a B-25?

Hi Scott, price for pins and patches sounds good to me so put me down for one of each regardless, now to figure out how to pay for them.

If you'd like I suppose to save a bit on postage from the states if one of us would like to volunteer to disperse the orders locally I'd be willing to do so. might make for easier funds transfer and exchange too, What do you reckon John and Matt?

although i love the distinctive shape of the corsair would have to go for mustang, in RAAF colours of course, maybe a nice one from the middle eastern theatre like the one who'se number excapes me at the moment but only just got flying. 3squadron I believe with southern cross on rudder.

My only problem with the P-51 is that it is the generic warbird. If you think of WWII fighters thats the one you think of. Ask a person on the street to identify a WWII fighter and they'll call it a Mustang, regardless of wiether your showing them a picture of a P-40 or a Spitfire. Hence the comment that the Mustang is the Cessna of warbirds.

In short, Mustang would be too easy and predictable. But if it is voted as the winner in the poll thats what we will use.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mustang.

My name is Rob Moeller and my company is Mainland Marketing and Embroidery.
I am located in the Houston, Texas area. As you can surmise from the
company name, I do embroidery. I also am an aviation enthusiast. Three of
my friends and I have a Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-3 that is undergoing a
long term restoration.

The majority of my embroidery is aviation related. For the past three years
I have produced embroidered patches, cap and shirts for the Wings Over
Houston Airshow. I have produced a number of embroidered patches. I
produce the embroidered shirts wore by the CAF Tora Group (group that
reenacts the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor).

In addition to the Wings Over Houston Airshow, I have produced replica
patches for the 352nd Fighter Group Association, for the Lone Star Flight
Museum and units of the Commemorative Air Force. I have also produced
embroidered patches for "Tex" Hill (original Flying Tiger pilot) and Dick
Cole (Jimmy Doolittle's co-pilot). I produced 7500 patches for the USAF for
the commemoration of the Centennial of Flight. I have produced patch orders
as few as 50 patches.

I also have made a specialty of decorating pilot helmet bags. These bags
have been done for the Wings Over Houston Airshow as gifts to the USAF
"Thunderbirds" and other demo pilots. I have decorated them for the CAF
Tora Group, the 147th Fighter Wing of the Texas Air National Guard and with
the Flying Tiger logo for "Tex" Hill.

Scott, I know you have found someone to make the patches, but I also noticed
that you may be interested in hearing from others that can. If this is of

I think the Mustang you are thinking of is the Pay/Hourigan CAC-18 VH-JUC, flying as 3 Sqn RAAF CV-P? Desert camo scheme with a southern cross rudder?

Whereas I love Spits, I agree that the image is not evocative enough for a US-base site. Just to be a pain in the tushy, how about a silhouette of a B-24? I know there's so few around, but their shape is unmistakeable.
