You can also go to :

www.terraserver.com

Go to search by coordinates

and type for example :

3.6448813 S
133.696784 E

or

4.49976 S
154.22612 E

or

6.98319 S
155.882647 E

wonder what's still below the trees !!!

question : does anybody know a site where we can consult and eventually buy photos with resolution higher than 15 meters (max for this site) ?

Laurent

Hi Laurent:

Excellent photo. There were many allied planes there during WW2. It would be great if we could get close ups of 5-6 places thought to have aircraft.

Can you get any photos of that quality of Morotai, Halmahera ,and Borneo?

Thanks,

Chris

Laurent - that is a spectacular picture. Is that a large bare-metal fuselage below about the midway point of the runway on the large island in lower right corner of picture? I used a large magnifying glass but just can't tell.

Strong rumors of graveyards in eastern Java. Would you be able to scan that area? Thanks.

Hi George:

I was under the impression that Java as a whole is very populated. Are the rumors saying it was a Japanese or American graveyard? Any idea of the city in Java it's near. Palembang-a Japanese concentration point?

Not sure, Harvard, but I think an American graveyard, not in a populated area, though. More of a jungle environment. Again, this comes from being spotted from the air over eastern Java.

George, anyway you could contact the pilot? I don't think the allies had anything in use in Java , because it was conquered by the Japanese after WW2. Whatever the allies had in Java until 1942, I think the quantity was very very low.

I could very well be wrong about it being American; its been a long time since I read about this, and I probably got this Eastern Java graveyard confused with some other spotting.
