Your own collection of 10 currently restored warbirds

Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:00 pm

If you could have any 10 currently, completely restored warbirds in you own museum. What warbirds would they be? ... and try not to piss anyone off ... haha ... They can be flyers or static, it's up to you ... personally, I want mine to fly.

1. P-38F "glacier girl"
2. P-40C Paul Allens
3. P-47D "No guts, no glory"
4. P-39 TFC
5. P-51D "Cripes A Mighty"
6. P-51D Jack Croul's
7. F6F-5 Paul Allens
8. FG1-D Corsair " Marines dream"
9. P-40K Fagen's
10. F8F "Blue angel"

11. My wildcard, Lewis Spitfire

Those are my first 10, after I acquire them, I'll work on my second 10 of which I already know as well. And yes there are some bomber types in my second 10 ...

Of course, anyone who participates in this thread will probably piss someone here in WIX who owns a warbird ... I know of a few who might just be offended ... oh well, too bad, don't own a warbird then ... hahaha ... joking of course .....

Interesting line up. Now are you gonna get 9 good buddies to fly the others?

1. B-24J- "Joe" Fantasy of Flight
2. B-17G- "Fuddy Duddy"
3. F4U-1A- P.O.F.
4. P-47 "Spirit of NJ" P.O.F.
5. P-39 "Brooks 2nd" T.F.C.
6. C-46- "Tinker Belle" C.A.F.

7. Zero- Fargo Air Museum
8. Oscar- Texas Airplane Factory

9. Me-109E- Russell Group
10. FW-190- Flug Werk (short nose)

I'm not picky about new builds. :D The more the merrier I say! :P

But as my special bonus plane (that usually came in the Micro Machines packs) I would want:

11. P-40B- T.F.C.

Like the thread Hellcat. What would everybody else pick?

Hmmm, so many aeroplanes, so little time.

PoF's Peashooter
Paul Allen's Fw 190D
Ed Russell's Bf 109E
PoF's Zero
OFMC's Spitfire IXb
Peter & Polly Vacher's Hurricane I
Kermit's P-51C
P-38 'Glacier Girl'
The Swiss-built Morane-Saulnier D-3801 HB-RCF
Shuttleworth's Hind

And, seeing as we seem to be allowed an 11th 'bonus' item, Solent Sky's Walrus to be fully restored to fly (to take my friends fishing in on a nice summer's afternoon!) 8)

.....Paul Allen's Fw 190D......

HHmmm, Paul Allen has a long-nosed "Dora" model now? Please do tell. I knew he had a short nose, but I didn't know he had a long nose. Any details?

It's the ex-Champlin one.

But that's the best part of going to the Museum of Flight! I hope it stays there for a while yet.

CURRENTLY RESTORED!!!!!! .... not being restored, currently restored, I don't want to walk into your hanger and see airplanes being worked on, I want to see a spit-polished clean floor and beautifully complete restored warbirds sitting there. I want hot girls standing next to each warbird that will spend an hour giving me the history of each one of those planes, I want free hotdogs and beer. ... ouch!!!! I just slapped myself ... OK, I think I'm fine now.

Already gone, I'm afraid. A shame, as I was looking forward to seeing it for myself next month. There's a picture of it, minus wings, at Paul Allen's new place on a thread somewhere here taken in the past few days.

Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:19 pm

Here's mine -

1. Udvar He219 (when the wings are done)
2. Udvar Do335
3. Udvar Ar234
4. Udvar Seiran (for waterskiing)
5. Allen's Fw190 D-13
6. USAFM FW190 D-9
7. New Me262 2-seater
8. Udvar Fw190 F-8
9. RAFM Hendon Me110 G-4
10. RAFM Hendon He111 H-20

Thu Mar 27, 2008 8:28 pm

Now that is some serious axis aircraft!!!

I thought mine was pretty good with at least 4 axis fighters there, but that is a squadron!
