I've thought about some of the recent interactions in the posts overall, and come up with a simple conclusion. There are problems that occur, because of multiple reasons:

First, we are dealing with public forum; a cross section of the society as a whole, or "microcosm of the real world" as another WIXer pointed out. There are conservatives, liberals, and moderates all over the board. As a result some real opportunity for conflict occurs. The theoretical Oil and Water not mixing types of scenarios.

As a result, I've concluded that the only way to handle this is to start a discussion; see what is said, and continue if it is safe. If you run into some jerk (for lack of a better word) who hijacks your topic, then end it.

To avoid conflict with the perceived "jerks", then PM the quality folks who have brought up points with substance, suck it up and move on.

I'll have to credit Scott, this is a great board for meeting several other restorers, warplane pilots, and adventurers to see what they have to say. They can be a great resource, and I've actually ran into quite a few who will be of great assistance in my endeavours both present and future. Especially folks in other contries, with firsthand knowledge. I credit the board for this.

So from now on, I've learned my lesson and will use the board to see what people can be PM'ed for more detail.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

You are correct that this is a great board to exchange information and also where we can learn from each other. Of course there are always topics that can get a bit hot, but in general that is no problem as long as things are being kept civil.

Generally,
If someone wants to handle a certain investigation his way that's his right and if somebody else have a different opinion so be it, but I don't think it's a good sign if people are argueing to the umpteenth degree as has been happening several times recently. But by discussing this some very useful information can be gathered for the benefit of both (or more) parties.

Let's just learn from each other and respect each others opinions. We all learn from it.

I hope you have succes with any project you are working on and if doing it without upsetting any gouvernment or other interested parties so much the better

Good luck

Cheers

Cees

Yes, and I hope people don't misconstrue or create an unlawful meaning out of my posts. I only made mention of doing a reclassification of aircraft parts nothing that would be unlawful.
