Vultee Vengeance photos - Australian restorations - Others ?

Hi all

Just putting up the Vengeance photos (84) from Murray Griffiths restorations at Wangarratta taken again here by Tony Andrews on his recent trip downunder. Should take another hour to complete

Then go Vultee Vengeance - Murray Griffiths at the bottom of the galleries.

Apart from the remains of these three all being restored to fly and the complete machine at Camden are there any other remains anywhere?

I know the folklore is that this is the world population but I can't believe some other stuff doesn't exist elsewhere. However I have been looking for 30 years and I have not heard of anything - any leads on other stuff?

Fascinating photographs, as always. Incidentally, I don't believe I noticed the fairly complete looking fuselage which used to be displayed at Whaleworld in the mix... was it just the better of the two center sections displayed in your photos, with a few of the components removed perhaps? I did recognize the inner wing panels from that display (shown outside in your shots).
Also, did all of the Vengeance stuff come from the former Whaleworld collection, or was some of it gathered from elsewhere? Very curious, and so terrific that this virtually extinct type will once again grace the skies! Thanks again for sharing Tony's photos.

The Vengeance stuff mainly came from Whaleworld but there is also some other stuff ,

The fuselage at Whaleworld is in fact the better of the two as you say with some additional components bolted on.

Don't hold your breath for a first flight but it will happen with time asn vill be just fantastic.

There are the remains of a Vengeance (id unknown here in SA) its not much and consists mainly of the forward section of the cockpit. I myself have collected some bits and pieces over the years but not alot - check other posts re my interests in A27-310. I have leads on at least one other wreck / parts source in SA (no I will not reveal this).

I have also been told of the remains of an aircraft in WA that is supposed to be a Vengeance.

No the taxiable one is the complete aircraft still with the Thomas collection in Camden NSW - the wings are there but not fitted because of space limitations - it is a real time capsule as it has not been "restored" but is in "original" condition. The Camden Museum is an excellent collection and well worth a visit.
