Invader N126HK

Fri Dec 17, 2004 2:15 pm

Greetings all

I just learned via the Yahoo invader newsgroup http://groups.yahoo.com/group/a26invader/ that N126HK made her first post-restoration flight in August this year from Van Nuys, CA. Reportedly the aircraft is to be fitted with long range tanks and ferried to Hawaii.

Anyone knows more?

Thanks

Kind regards

Nicolai

Dave M2 in NZ can tell you more about that--it appeared in Classic Wings recently. What I can say is that the Invader is gorgeous, a real work of art.

Hi

Well if it's going to Hawaii with long range tanks it could be going further ...... and further is.........Aus/NZ.......

Anybody know anything or am I just getting too keen and it is just hauling Pineapples around the main Island?

Dave - know anything you can share.

Well, I talked to the restores in April 2003 at Van Nuys, CA, and they explained the owner wanted to base the Invader at Hawaii. No one metioned Aus/NZ, sorry :?

AFAIK Hawaii is the last stop for this aircraft, not sure who is operating it there though.

I just stumbled over this shot of N126HK taken at Van Nuys on November 25 2004:

This is the first post-restoration photo I see of N126HK

Wouldn't it be neat to see N126HK in an air-2-air session with sister N26BK ?

 8) 8)

John, who is Oscar Duck and which Invader are you reffering to when you say you "get to see one in the air here" ?

Thanks

Hi Nic

Oscar is a local Warbird identity here in Queensland Australia who owns a few very nice machines including a TBM and he has aquired an as yet unidentified A26 for operation here in Brisbane so we are all looking forward to it. For understandable reasons oscar doesn't want to discuss the identity until it is all finalised but as he is a member of the forum you could PM him if you liked ?

Which 26 did Mr. Duck use to own? The only other Invader I know of that spent time in Australia was N99426 "The Hustler", now in store with the owner of N126HK and N26BK!
