Yankee Air Museum Show

Sun Jan 16, 2005 5:26 pm

Has anyone heard any updates or have any "teasers" for this years YAM airshow in Ypsilanti? The winter doldrums have set in and it would be nice to brighten things up with some exciting warbird airshow news.
Also how are things coming with their recovery after the loss of their hangar?

Thanks.

Kevin, it sure sounds interesting. I'm about to reserve my summer holiday at work, so any update in the not too distant future will be appreciated.

Thanks

My info is 6 B-17s, 2 B-24s, B29 and some B-25s for starters.

I know it is expensive but the Lanc would look pretty good sitting next to those guys. Hint, Hint!

Before I get borage of emails I better confirm that Eric's info. is correct.
We wanted to confirm the sixth B-17 before we officially announced the “bomber line-up” but from our vantage point it looks REAL good for six B-17's :D
The CAF B-29 and B-24 have confirmed and so has The Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24.
Eric, the Lanc is on our wish list but it is sponsorship dependent.
There are a few other surprises that we are working on and once they are confirmed we will let everyone know.

Have you announced the dates yet? It's never too early to start vacation planning.

Thanks Kevin, those preliminary details sounds interesting! Sorry, I have to ask: Can we expect an Invader?

Thanks

That is a line up I will be hard to pass up.

My question is can there be a formation flight? Please. Seeing 6 together is great but seeing six together in flight is incredible!

Sorry, but as it sits right now an Invader is not in the works for this year. :(

Our plan is to have all the B-17's fly in one segment together. A formation of all the B-17's is dependent on quite a few factors. We will do our best to get them together but that is ALOT of heavy metal to "form up".
