Hello Everybody,

I am just doing some research about the current Zero rebuilds in America.
Does anybody have any info/photos?

1) Commemorative Air Force A6M2
2) Flying Heritage Twin-seat Zero

Thanks!

Ron

Wow, I finally asked an easy question. Do you guys know how many of the original parts this aircraft will use? Also the old fuselage looks good, I take it it's not being used? Ok Ron back to your original question.

CAF aircraft is being rebuilt at Camarillo, California. It doesn't look much different than it did 4 years ago, just moved around a bit. The tailcone is removed. There are a lot of structural problems with this aircraft.

FHC aircraft is structurally complete and is now being actively worked once again at Fighter Rebuilders in Chino, California (installation of systems and engine).

Hi Ron,

This may be old news to you now, and I apologize to everyone if this has already been brought up, (I am way behind on reading all of the posts), but it is being reported that the CAF A6M-2 is currently awaiting finalization of a three part deal that sees the CAF take ownership of David Price's A6M-3 (NX712Z), while the CAF's A6M-2 (NX58245) goes to a buyer in Japan, (and of course.......Mr. Price gets the cash).

So everybody get ready to say "so long" to the So. Calif. Wing's hangar queen......(I don't know if the new Japanese owner will have her restored in the U.S. or if she will go overseas right away, though).

Steve

P.S. This info has been published in a few of the CAF's newsletters, so again, I apologize if this has already been discussed.
