The T-birds never did fly the mustang. I saw a digital print a few years back with 6 mustangs painted up like thunderbirds. It looked pretty darn good!

Tbirds started in 1953 with the F84 then flew the F105, F4, T38 and the F16

Here are a couple of more shots of the P-51D, N6168C,
44-73704 taken at Harlingen, TX 1975 or 1976. Aircraft at
that time was owned by Lefty Gardner, now owned by
Lewis Shaw.

I'm sure it is painted differently but this is the first time I've ever seen it painted as a faux Thunderbird. I'd love to see more pics. 8)

And one of the most beautiful Mustangs in existence.

I have a hard time keeping the spinner on our airplane polished :? , I just can't imagine the number of hours it takes to maintain the finish on that P-51.

As many times as I have seen that mustang....it is never dirty. Hats off to Lou and his crew at the Toy Barn.

Let me apologize in advance for the poor quality scan. This postcard was tacked on my wall for years when I was a kid.

This is the last time I will apologize for the quality of the photos. I took these pictures as a kid with a 110 camera.

Airsho 77 and a salute from Raiders. They used to do the one wheel simulated landings during the Tora routine. The second pic is Sentimental Journey before the name change.

Image

Gunfighter during the Winter 78 show, and the Gary Levitz P-38 at Aisho 77. This is the one that is in New Mexico now. I always liked this paint scheme.

Image

In 1982, there were 4 B-17s. Raiders, Sent. Journey, Chuckie and Alum. Overcast. Aluminum Overcast took of the last day on 3 engines.

Can anybody identify this P-40?
