Found these pictures (in my inherited stuff) of a KC-97 at Midland @ 1989.

Gary is this the airplane you have part of in the back yard "swimmin" hole? Reg# N1175K ...Or is this the Berlin Airlift Foundation machine?

I don't believe that one is mine. The one I have came out of Florida (already cut in pieces) and had dark blue paint on the front of the cowlings.

Very cool! Wish I could remember when Pop was AC on these. I don't have record whether it was at Chennault in LA or Forbes in Topeka prior to B-47's. Could have even been in FL prior to both but for sure a cool AC. Thanks! I could handle one now either full of AVgas or jet fuel.

That is the Berlin Airlift's bird, now registered as N117GA.

I bid on that C-97 at the auction in 1989. It was in amazing condition, with if I remember one bad engine, but otherwise ready to fly out. Good thing my bid wasn't accepted, what in the he ll would I do with it.

Park it next to the T-28's and you would have been Nancy's best ever friend... Is that the one that was used as a flying hospital in Mexico and Central America and then a fish hauler? If so, it was based in Hondo, Texas in its hospital days....

Same one that leaked oil all over Hondo then San Marcos before going to Berlin Airlift. Should have collected the oil........lets see at $135 a barrel we would be in the money.
