It's one of the early glide torpedo bombs, obviously hung on a B-25.

Wow, I've never seen a torpedo with that set-up mounted on it. The 8th Air Force tried bombs with a glider attachment (1000 pounders, I think) that looks a lot like that deal. That is a new one for me. Do you suppose the little box on the back was the "timer" that separated the glider from the torpedo at a set altitude or time?

It looks like it says "Yankee Baka" on the nose of the torpedo. Perhaps a field mod to see if they could make a flying bomb that did not require a live flight control system?.

Probably gyro stabilized to glide level and track straight from departure point.
Looks like you need some basic carpenter skills to build.
It looks like bullet or shrapnel damage covered with fabric patches on the fus side fwd of bomb door. The entry door on a B-25 swings down. They removed the door as it would hit the bomb. Also the gun packs were removed from the fus sides.

This is testing of the Bat maybe or the Bat technology. US have tested and operationaly used guided bombs in Pacific. I have somewhere diagrams of using but this will be problem to get it in my chaos of material... So before that was GB-4 glide bomb and GT-1 glide torpedo.
