which may confuse a few people but when Capt Eddie started using the "Hat-In-The-Ring" has the insignia for the Rickenbacker Car Company
the Army Air Corps changed the 94th Pursuit 's insignia to the Indian headof the Lafayette Escadrille in May 1924. In July 1942 Eddie officially presented the Hat-In-The-Ring" back to the 94th Fighter Squadron.
