Does anyone have any information on the status of the P-47 that was recovered from Lake Traunsee, in Traunkirchen, it was "Dottie Mae," of the 511th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force.
On V/E Day, pilot 2nd Lt. Henry G. Mohr, Jr. put her in the lake.

I have an original war time photo of it in my collection.

I can't recall, is this P-47 supposed to fly, or is she going to sit in a museum?

Got me....she didn't look like a write-off, with the way the guys are turning out Warbirds looking and operating the way they do...there is no reason...other than cash(what other reason is there) that would keep her out of the air.
This would be the "P E R F E C T" aircraft for Mr. Paul 8) Allen's Collection, don't ya think

..I think the plan was to build it into a flyer...it got the wheels I salvaged from a junk yard years ago as it needed some new ones.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

Now that's one that would be cool to see flying in her original markings!

Still sitting in a hangar in Chino. Probably could be had by someone who wanted it bad enough.

I'd say that given its pedigree, that the only person that I could think of right off the top of my head that could "afford" to buy her and take care of business would be Mr. Allen. this one "must" have slipped his attention.
