US Pilot Certificate Question II

Tue Feb 01, 2005 11:08 am

Per OKC - there are three colors. Blue , Black & Gold. Blue is indicitive of fixed wing. If you add rotary wing to a fixed wing license, it remains blue. If a helo guy adds fixed wing to his license, it remains black. All other certificates issued (F/E, AC dispatcher, parachute rigger, etc. ) are black. Gold is for CFI's that achieve advanced ground instructor rating, thus earning the title "gold seal instructors".

Now for the question that OKC could'nt answer: What's the difference, operationally, on my ATP between my original type ratings (B17, DC3), listed in section XII and the new "authorized experimental aircraft" (formerly LOA's), P51 and T28 listed in section XIII? Fly for hire? How the AC are registered?

Take it easy on me, I'd rather ask dumb questions that I shuold probably know on this forum rather that ask my local fed man
