I posted a query on this a while ago. After a few months more digging, I came up with this.
http://www.visi.com/~jweeks/p61/p61beijing.html

It says that the P-61 is 42-39417.

Is it my eyesight or is the top frame of the canopy missing? Wonder how badly corroded the cockpit is if it's been like that since 1987!

Ask Mike Henniger, he's the one who told me. Since he was actually at the FHC, I don't have much reason to doubt it.

Mike specifically reported that the P-61 was not at FHC so the suggestion that it may still be, at this time, in China is not really that unreasonable is it?

But FHC is having stuff restored all over the place, and I don't think that they do restorations at their museum. That being said, one report said that the P-61 was sold and gone, yet another report said that it was still there a few weeks later (from an eyewitness operative of DaveM2). Somebody is mistaken, but I trust Dave's sources!

That puts the pressure on and means I will have to execute my source if he makes me look bad

Like I said before, PM Mike if you want to know. Read his review of the FHC. At the end it says recently arrived P-61 or something. I asked him, he told me that its from Beijing. So if you really want to know, ask him.

As well there are about 10 other airframes undergoing restoration, and that didn’t include the newly acquired P-61

Here is the WIX thread where I got my information...

http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... hlight=p61

...when I last spoke to them they told me the P-61 was from China. They didn't say anything about it's arrival time, but I got the impression it had not yet arrived. Sorry if I added any misinformation or mislead anyone.

It looks like I will be in Seattle again next week. I may get a chance to revisit FHC. If anyone has any questions they would like me to ask start a new thread on the subject and let me know.

Mike
