This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I agree that these ad hoc enthusiastic ideas are usually stillborn (unfortunately, remember the WIX Whirlwind project?). One of the problems is that IF the project is succesful and an airframe is recovered, who is going to own it and if some participants leave the group the fight is on. It has happened before and will happen again.
It will only help if two or three persons living in the vicinity will start such a project, but even then there are some pitfalls.
Cheers

i kind of thought if this did pan out & happened that the recovered bird would be donated to a museum mutually agreed on by the participants. donated by wix members would have sounded pretty cool. oh well, on to other dreams, tom

Imagine the arguements as to which museum it should be donated to....especially if the wreck was recovered by an international crew from an area such as the Pacific Islands. You would want it to go to the US, i would want it to come to NZ, Cees would want it in Holland, Tony would want it in the UK...you get the idea

Hi Tom:
I'd say just do whatever you can; go with the flow, and you'll be surprised what great opportunities will come you way!

Yes, that's the best time. Now's a good time, because as you know the economy is starting to make a recovery. Keep an ope, and mind look around like O.P. said earlier. You'll find something interesting somewhere.
