Always love seeing a Mustang with the replicated Armor seat. Wonder if those "hard points" are for "Drop Tanks, Rockets or Bombs"? Sweet Looking Bird!

Looks like the normal pylon for bombs or drop tanks. No rockets were carried there. They had smaller stubs outboard under the wings for HVARs or bazooka type tubes for earlier style.

It would be cool to see the old paper mache' tanks on a Mustang. Maybe that's what they're up to???

I was just thinking the other day, that with Oshkosh approaching, I wonder if a Mustang might be headed out of the shop at Midwest Aero? 
Seems to be the trend in the past, and I hope it does get up to Oshkosh for the show. Definitely an award winner just by these glances of it.
I love the finish of the metal...looks just like I'd imagine it would back in WWII, from the photos of Mustangs during that time. I also see that those stenciled markings on the forward left side of the nose were figured out! It sure is nice seeing one that looks unlike all of the rest, and I am looking forward to seeing it with the final details added, and of course more photos!

God I wish Jack Ilfrey was still with us. He would be so honored. It is rare (unfortunately) that 20th FG aircraft markings are used on projects. It really looks great. A wonderful tribute!!
