I did think that it was highly inappropriate to have Michael Douglas announce the tribute to veterans, though.
I think Douglas is probably liberal, being a typical actor, and generally veterans are conservative.

So?
Why does everything has to be brought back to politics?

Well Ollie:
It's not about politics, it's about how the veterans feel. I work with a Vietnam vet, and I know how they think..
As a worse example, imagine how vets would feel if Al Gore and Pelosi went forward, and did a speech about sacrifice!!

I couldn't say, being from way up North.
And I know I can put political preferences aside when it comes to talking or thinking about the War and Vets.

Ollie, I'm glad you can.
Let me make it simplier, political matters aren't an issue. A veteran will be angry if "liberal tree huggers", tell them about sacrifice. I can imagine 90% would sit through the speech with their hands in a tight fist and sweat starting to form on their faces.
