FHC Mustang Air to Air!

Tue Feb 08, 2005 12:10 am

I just received the latest issue of Flight Journal, and much to my surprise it contains a number of excellent air to air shots of the Flying Heritage Collection's Mustang, 44-72364/N723FH.

John Dibbs is the photographer, he is the "staff" photographer for Paul Allens collection, nobody does it better.........

well....he's no Phil Makanna.

Gary, we've been through this before....

Phil is also outstanding, the only criticism I have of some of his pics are the fake backgrounds he sometimes uses, sometimes they work..sometimes they look a bit ...well...odd.
Just my .02 of course.

Dave I'm glad that I'm not the only one that sees that. I'm not sure what it is about those backgrounds but I just don't like them.

To me personally, the original image itself is what does it and knowing that it has been doctored turns me off. I used to get the new Ghosts for Christmas every year but since the doctored stuff started showing up, I've lost interest in wanting it every year.

Just my .02

How bout the previous issue (I think)? I-16, Fi 103R, Fi 156, etc. John Dibbs is my favorite air-to-air photographer. Read his Spitfire book.
