Very Nice Job!
Just one question on the ARC-5 sets- Does your a/c just have the two receivers? If so, was the three set control unit original to the type, as they anticipated or used a third set in some, or do you need a two controller unit which you couldn't find? (That would be the BC-496A.)
If you are looking for that one, please let me know- I have one which needs clean-up, etc, but I'd probably be willing to do some trading for it if you were interested/needed it. PM me if you are-
Love the L-5- Looks great!

Matt-
Good catch on the throttle linkage. I'll add a washer ASAP.
Robbie-
The L-5G only carried two recievers, but had the three reciever BC-450-A control unit. Don't know why they did it, but it's in the manuals and photos. If you look closely at the BC-450-A, you can see that the left PL-Plug is in fact a PL- cap with no wires exiting... A very hard thing to find in NOS shape with the orig. inspection stamp. Another hard thing were the spline drives (MC-215) that run from the BC-450 control unit to the recievers themselves. We found some in NOS shape but they were about 7 feet too long! Luckily I had NOS fittings for the ends so we could shorten them (thereby trashing one end and using the new ends on the shorter product). It is cool to be able to turn the control unit and have the reciever dials turn as a result!

Cool- Just thought I'd ask... By the way- where did you get the beads and insulators for the antenna wire? I need to get some for the B-26 radio display, and was not sure what I was looking for. Is the wire within a bare wire? Or is it insulated? And what size are the insulator stand offs? The ones I am looking for have the rounded end, and are about 1" dia. by 1 1/2" long, with a 1/4-20 thread on the flat end.
Thanks!

Taylor-
That is a REALLY cool L-5. Just out of curiousity, it looks like they assembled the airplane with mostly CADII hardware. Was this one built late enough that CADII was in use?

Robbie-
Check a company called Industrial Ceramics.. (I think thats the name... I'll try to dig the name up though)
Tim-
Not sure when CADII came into play, but my plane was built in 1946 (though the s/n states 1945)... Mostly it was the most available, plus I like how the various shades of green sets it off. I wanted to use modern hardware (i.e. nuts, bolts, cotter pins, b-nuts, hoses, tubing, etc.) out of safety (I like new metal holdin the old metal together

)

Taylor, a southern boy ought to know all about luminescent, didn't you ever catch fireflies at dusk as a kid?
Or, if you had matriculated as you originally intended over with the Barbarians On The Brazos, you could just say, "All dem tings is glowin".
Have you got any prospects for aviatin at Vandy, or is it going to be only book time? Good luck either way.

I plan to fly during school... I'm on the hangar waiting list at John C. Tune Airport and I hope to have the L-5 there second year. First year ,when I have time, I'll rent an airplane locally. But I've got this great plan for when I've got my L-5 there locally. I'm going to have large magnetic letters so when I bring a girl over for a flight I can run in and put her name on the cowling and then bring her in and say "No way! You're name is Suzy... MY PLANE IS NAMED SUZY! It must be fate." Then when the next girl comes I change it to her name and the warped cycle continues!

Plus the Litter bay can be quite roomy! HAHA

Maybe you should take Bills advice and get some book learning over ther on the Brazos, although I don't think they will have any of them thar aluminum magnets.
