Very good question!!!! I would like to know too but all my contacts have gone unanswered. If it was not for Jack Cook and his friend peeking over the fence, I would not have a couple of pics.

I believe they still have 13 unrestored airframes. Last I had heard, they wanted to set them up as a WW2 factory Assembly line to show the stages of how a aircraft is built.

I also think that they are part of the inventory of Moody Crop Dusting Co.

The first time I went to the Yanks Air Museum at Chino, sometime in the early 80's, I talked to one of the head restorers there. He told me at that time, that the musuem had over 40 disassembled N3N's. I don't know if they still have that many, or they sold them off, though.

Me & another guy at VanNuys covered the wings for one about 16 years ago. It's still not finished, must be getting close by now tho..

I got to fly 2996 once with Tom Ahlers, who I believe narrates that video, and if I recall correctly he also had video of him doing aerobatics in it with the float(s) installed.

I believe all have been retired as dusters but every now and again one will surface still as a duster and in ferryable condition. Just last year one on Barnstormers surfaced in TX still with duster gear on it.

Why don't you give us an N3N Pirep sometime? A lot of us have flown Stearmans but very few here have any N3N stick time.

Dad has been there. Its I that has not. He got to go all over (Pre 9/11). Tho I dont think he got to get to go into the old buildings, he did take a bunch of outside pics.
