Steve Patterson should get to see the Mossie when he visits Auckland in a few days time.

Is it going to fly, because that's all we're interested about!

Hmmmm, flying Mossie...

I thought you were referring to the Fighter Factory LLC, the folks who are trying to find $$ to new-build P-51s.

I was thinking, "what the heck would they be doing with e Mosquito??"

I like to watch how a project goes together. They all have hurdles that the restorer must overcome.
Most of the time all they hear is "when will it fly??can it fly?"ect. over and over again. And if this were the FLYPAST board all you would hear is "WILL IT BE AT LEGENDS"

But this is the WIX board, and we say :

WILL IT BE AT GENESEO?????

Next year, if I'm not sick/aircraft not broken/weather cooperating.

My last two attempts have been foiled, so I'm not even trying to go this year. Maybe that will please the gods!

What do we say on the west coast?

Why would they post a picture of the restoration of the RAAF Museum PR Mossie as their own on their website...bad form or what...

Probably not much of KA114 to start with!

Seems a bit odd to me to show someone else's aircraft as your own without some appropriate text....

Who is doing the restoration? Is it Glyn Powell? Which mosquito is this? Very curious.... Richard

Since it's listed on the Fighter Factory site as a FB Mk 26, it's probably KA114, a derelict airframe from Surrey, B.C.

Hi all--

Yep, it's KA114, the only extant Canadian-built fighter Mossie. Jerry Y is having it rebuilt (resurrected...?) to flying condition in NZ. Those pix on the FF website seem to show at least three Mossies and I'm not sure any of them is actually their project. As is pointed out above there wasn't as much of KA114 left as would have been ideal! The bare-wood fuselage looks like Mr Powell's pine test-article fuselage which was supposed to be going to the Windsor project; the complete TT-schemed Mossie obviously isn't KA114; and the remaining markings on the other fuselage are not consistent with wartime RCAF livery...The aft nacelles shown are probably from KA114 though.

None of which matters that much: Jerry Y nearly always sends something to both Gennie and Yankee. A Canuck Mossie whistling in to land, being pointed at by my camera and hundreds of others. I can't wait!
