I'm posting this in hopes that the legion of shutterbugs out there can help me. I'm working on a series of prints of A-10's, and they are all complete except for four squadrons, which I've been unable to find good reference pix for. I'm specifically looking for the pilot's name placard detail on the port side. It needs to be high-rez enough for me to read the name.
Any of you have recent pix of hogs from the Idaho ANG, the 66th Weapons Squadron, the 358th Lobos, or the Pennsylvania Black Hogs that clearly show the name placard, I would love you to post them here or send them to me. Ideally, the photo would include enough info, or be supplemented by photos that include enough info for me to get the numbers and other markings right. (Often just a serial number is enough...I have both of Don Logan's excellent photo books on the Hawg and the whole internet for reference, so I can normally look up a long shot. It's the close-ups that are hard to get.)
Below is a sample close-up from one of the prints...an idea photo would include most of what you see here (although the ladder door need not be open). This shows a readable placard and the aircraft numbers, from which I can figure out the rest. It also provides a peek at the various placards that adorn the front, which often vary from plane to plane in placement. In a perfect world, it would be supplemented by a long shot of the same aircraft, so I can determine the appropriate paint (since squadron specific markings tend to change every few years).
A suitably high-rez long shot will often include enough detail to read the placard and the desired squadron markings.
Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated...
