You guys are making me seriously jealous!
Only thing I have besides my Kar 98 to compete in this game are these.
Walther P38 (found unused in an arms warehouse near Brenner Pass, Italy, in 1944. Its had one clip fired through it....no more.
and my Luger P08..........I love this gun!

Now there's a couple of nice ones; hope you've got the provenance for the P38. What maker/year is the P08?

Hi Hal,
As far as the P38 is concerned, I received it from my late Grandfather who got it as a gift from one of his salesmen back in 1969. The gentleman who gave it to him name was actually Hal and he served in the 338th Field Artillery Battalion of the 88th Infantry Division. The warehouse was south of Brenner Pass and NW of Bolanzo.
The Luger is a 1914 Military, produced in 1915 (all matching numbers)

Cool stuff! Mine's a 1913 DWM, matching numbers, no cut for the shoulder stock and no hold-open. A lot of fun to shoot

I shot that with my cheap camera, in the shade with a bright blue sky above...
The color came out so perfectly weird that I haven't tried it again!

Nice Toy selection. I would like to have an AK but the commiefornia government says its evil. The Garand glamor shot is real cool. Did you pop off the butt plate on your k31 to find the waterresistant paper??

Yeah! I found a tag with my K31..I went on a Swiss rifle forum to get it translated, I got a possible address for the guy. Never got an answer back...oh well.
That rifle is a great shooter! I have yet to shoot a match with it...one day I will.
I have fired my AR's, Garand and the '03 in matches. The '03 was purchased by my father in the late 40's. He never fired it. When he gave it to me it was still packed with cosmoline...the 1944 barrel looks like new! I won a vintage rifle match with it last year! It shoots very well!

I have pretty much got rid of everything now. I picked up what I wanted, and informed my fathe rthat he can shove the rest of his ass or sell them-his choice. I'm out of the gun nut phase of my life.
Here is what I still own:
My Remington 700P becaue it's what I trained on. Mine's the model with the 26 inch barrel which makes it godawful heavy but it's not like I'm not used to the weight by now. (Had it 25 years now) I'd rather do my job from at least 500m away. If I need a brush gun I'm in the wrong place and need my Winchester.
(this is not the 700P)
If you are looking for a scope, and can break out a biot of money, this is what you want. This was the last "toy" I bought myself, and it's the best scope I have ever had the pleasure of using. If I can see it with my naked eye, I can se eit wit this scope. It's got a lighted reticule which is nice (firefly) and dood, it works in low light really well. I won't claim taht it can cure leprosy, but...it might. I haven't hunted wit hit yet, but I'ce squinted out a lot of sites, and this one is the best I can remember using.

My winchester 1912 because I need soemthing to pop rabbits with.And maybe a couple of ducks thius winter if I can afford the price of the damned stamps> Otherwise it'll be my dove and quail gun. In extremis I can put buckshot init and it makes a fine brush gun. Or a fine man killer if I don't mind getting close (I do)
And my pistol: I'm not a handgun kind of guy, but there are times when I need something to tuck into my belt. With that in mind I kept my Smith and Wesson's Model 36 with a hammer shroud. Otherwise known as the chief special. Anything bigger is a waste. Automatics jam, are heavier, not concealable, and in general if I've put myself in a position where I need one, I'm better armed with my shotgun. And shouldn't be there on the first place. I'm not a cop so I don'tneed to be THAT upjumped. If I was a co I'd carry a Sig .40. Anything bigger is just stoopid heavy, anything lighter won't go througha car door.
This one doesn't have the hammer shroud but they all look alike anywayunless you dood it up
THey're all at the smith being worked over after a very long hiatus in a gun cabinet. I'm sur ethey were fine, as well packed as I left them. But after almost 20 years I'm not going to let one of them kill me first time I pull.
I do admit a certain pain in leaving my P38 and my Berretta .25 with a lemon squeeze grip to the wolves. But they're both useless as tits on a walrus, and the Berretta is prone to exploding in your face. The P38 has no real provinance. It was mypappaw's, he got them both somewhere in ETO, having gone all the way from Oran to the Hurtgen Forrest where he was finally wounded for the fourth time too badly to continue. He was a tough old geezer, made mean by all those years of fighting. A large part of why I served was because of his stories when I was little. They were true giants.
I'm sure Dad won't get rid of pappaws guns, but I can't take them, and I'm not going to pass them to sons I will never have. Wouldn't anyway--it's time to break this family chain.
I'm sorry I don't feel about guns like you guys do anymore. I remember how exciting it was for me when Pappaw took me to get my 1912 for my 10th birthday. I stilll dream about walking around a gun shop, and being able to buy all teh toys I want, and loading them into my tricked out land rover, so I can go duck hunting for xmas. Ahhhh southern chirstmas!
I always chuckle a little when I see ya'll gabbing about em. Makes me sort of sad tah I don't feel the urge anymore. To me they're just a tool now. Made for use, and the excitement of collecting them died somewhere about '93 I think.

My grandfather gave me 12A his from when he was a kid. First rifle I ever shot. I gave it to a nephew for his birthday about ten years ago and he's still using it for rabbits. I don't think I ever changed a part. Good rifle. What year is yours? I think mine was early 30's.
