The Collings Foundation is proud to announce the 2005 Wings of Freedom National Tour locations of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine" and Consolidated B-24J Liberator "Witchcraft" in its inaugural season wearing the colors of that famous aircraft from the 467th Bomb Group.

Tour locations for the Southwest and California tour portion have been posted to our website at:

http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedule-wof.htm

At each location, the B-17 & B-24 will be available to tour on the ground for a donation of $8 for adults / $4 for children under 12.

Flight experiences are also available for a $400 donation per person. Call 978-562-9182 to book a flight aboard either the B-17 or B-24 (or both!). If you book a flight on each aircraft at the same location, you can take advantage of our WWII Victory Special where you will recieve a $50 discount on the package. Again call 978-562-9182 for flight reservations.

Again, please visit the website at:

http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedule-wof.htm

For all newly added tour locations.

Hola Rob,

Fall schedule is still being worked on and we have not gotten confirmation of certain key shows and events in the region as of yet. As soon as we get those confirmations, we will be posting them. Portland is uncertain at this point due mostly to if the airport will have another open house as they did in 2004.

Airshow schedules are being worked on, but the only confirmed show as of right now is the Corsairs Over Connecticut show in Bridgeport, CT on June 3-5 with our F4U-5NL Corsair.

Other pending shows will be firmed up and posted at:

http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedules.htm

... over the next few weeks.

No, we are not flying anything to Sebago due to the fact our runway is still covered in snow here at Stow and it will stay like that until April. The TBM, UC-78, Storch, Stearman, and T-6 are all in the hangar stored until the ice clears and the field firms up.

Ryan,

Any more to the speculation I read in the recent Warbirds Digest about your organization being involved with possibly bringing in one of the new, scratch built, FW-190A's ? I think that seeing even one of those magnificent planes, together with 909 or the new paint schme on the B-24 would be fantastic indeed.

Just curious - why Ontario instead of Chino?

At this time there have been no plans made regarding this prospect in the 2005 season and the 2006 season has not been planned yet. CF has always been very happy to have owners and operators fly with the bombers from location to location and over the years we have had countless planes act as our "little friends" so it can't be ruled out totally.

We decided to try out Ontario over Chino primarily due to ramp considerations (still loads of planes on the ramp from Corona) and public access considerations on the tower ramp. Ontario airport mgt. also were very interested in hosting the tour for community relations purposes. It is our first ever visit to the airport, so it is a bit special in their eyes. We are hoping that we will attract more people from the inland empire that may have not known about what is at Chino... might give them the "bug" and inspire them to travel a bit more down the road.

Ryan,

Thanx's for the update, I'll looking forward to getting some B-24 time! Are you going on tour with the a/c? If so, looking forward to meeting a fellow wixer.

Cheers,

Lynn
