Hi Guys,

I absolutely love 1940's music. I had someone call me an old soul once. I believe it. Anyway my all time favorite WWII song is:

"I'll be loving you always"

I am curious what favorites you all have, if any?

Karen

Hi John,

If you don't mind sharing..... what are some of the songs on the cd? I am not familiar with that one. Thanks.

Gotta be Sentimental Journey and In The Mood. Have you ever seen the Glenn Miller story starring Jimmy Stewart? Pretty good flick with lots of great music.

Till I heard Hoagy Carmichael, I never knew how much I'd enjoy "A Huggin and a Chalkin' "...
LOLOL!

For a serious song, I'll have to get back to you...

That's one reason I like my XM satellite radio. Chanell 4 plays 1940's music w/ no commercials. They even do news for the day from the late thirties through the 40s.
I had to bring my grandparents from Indiana to Michigan not too long ago and put on the 40's on 4 and they didn't even want to stop for a "potty break." (Which usually seemed to happen about every hour).
Listening right now at work online!
Regards,
Mark

My favorite 1940's tune is:

I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFv_PoZ2iP0

I've got a few CDs of 1940's tunes, and I play them in the
hangar all the time while working on the SNJ (the airplane
seems to like / remember the music...). :D

In the last 3 months, I have become an XM fanatic. Picked up the Express model, and been loving it ever since! I rarely, if ever, put on commercial radio...

Robbie

PS- every time I mention it to my girlfriend, all she does is smile and say "told ya so" lol...

Robbie,
I am the same way. I was the one who said, "I'll never pay to listen to the radio."
Now, like you, I dont even tune to regular radio.
Regards,
Mark

So many to try to list... Some of my favorites:

Moonlight Serenade - Glenn Miller
We'll meet again - Vera Lynn
White Cliffs of Dover - Vera Lynn
String of Pearls - Glenn Miller
Begin the Beguine – Shaw (?)
I'll be seeing You - Jo Stafford
Long ago and far away - Jo Stafford

I'm at work, so I have to make the list short, for now.
