On my recent trip to California I also visited the Palm Springs Air Museum. I wrote a report about my visit to this museum as well…

As for photography the PSAM has similar conditions to the PoF. The PSAM display areas consist of three hangers. When I was there one of the hangers main doors were closed due to a sand/dust storm near by, but most of the time the doors are kept open to provide much natural light into the hangers. The hangers are painted white on the walls and ceiling. What a concept eh? Most of the times the doors are open, so in most cases this provides enough light for most locations in the hanger, so a tripod is not really necessary. There are also a few static airframes out front, and often they park their active aircraft on the ramp where they can be easily photographed.

Enjoy the photos.

Mike

Nice photos Mike! I wish the HILL AFB museum would take a note and rearrange their planes so they could be better photographed.

The PSAM wasn't bad for aircraft arrangement, but the Museum at March has obviously put some thought into it. Pics from March are coming soon.

Palm Spring has one of the best flying museum layouts I've seem. It is a real credit to them.

But they also have the room right now, If only every museum had that much space.
