Painting outdoors? I take it the French don't have an equivalent of our EPA? Looks great, though.

They're painting outside the proper German way! Should be a nice machine to watch, but I can't wait to see white 1 flying, now that will be something to hear an 801 again. My favourite restoration at the moment is also french and it's the fantastic 162 the memorial flight is restoring, their attention to detail and accuracy is extremely impressive, such a shame we'll not see it flying of course!

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

How do they keep bugs out of the paint?

That HE-162 video is amazing...what a phenomenal attention to detail on an a/c that's never going to fly again! I remember seeing some photos from long ago at Garber of a/c performing engine runs...along the same lines. I guess the restorers want to see how good their work is...I applaud them.

Will this be the first Flug Werke '190 with a paint scheme that closely duplicates a documented wartime Fw 190, as opposed to the representative schemes we have seen thus far? And is it allowed to show the hakenkreuz on French-registered aircraft?

That '162 is amazing!

Just how closely-duplicated a documented wartime Fw 190 are you looking for?

The surf music seems a bit out of place WRT painting a FW-190, but then again I'm not much of an audiophile. I would have thought that some marching music might have been more appropriate.

I didn't seem to mind the music, sense it changed every 10 seconds. Something for everyone!

Hmmm,
I liked the fact that he was painting outside and covered from head to toe.
My autobody instructor painted in street clothes, no mask, in a booth.

I wonder if he is still alive?
