Thanks to "Chipmunk Bob" Hill and Dave Desmon I got to live one of my aviation dreams today. I've been wanting to attempt air to air photography for many years now and today ended up being the day. The flight was half practice/half show and consisted of two Navions (I was with Dave in the lead in his Navion), a Twin Navion and the Chipmunk. There was some glare from the canopy but I found some pics I liked.

Great shots Al. I wish I could have been there but I've been sick as a dog all week. Flying formation with the cascade guys is a great experience. I've gotten some spectacular pics from Dave's airplane.

If they are still at it tomorrow, and you go, tell them all I say hi.

Great pictures, but you could have gotten a better picture of me in front of the spit in photo #4. But you at least saved your camera.

It was actually quite comfortable. I guess gloves are just his thing.

Nice stuff and congratulations on finally getting to do some air work.
It was a really nice day, lots of very interesting aircraft doing lots of flying.
Sunday is supposed to be just as nice, so if you're in the neighborhood, swing on by!
I'm glad I finally got to meet you face to face as well as Hal B, saw Norm but everytime I swung past he was in conversation with several folks.
I must admit I was a bit blown away by the blue T-34 with the mirrored firewall and gold plated rocker box covers-
Lets hope the FoF does this again next year

It was great to put so many faces with names. I never ran into your son though. Maybe on Sunday.

Nice shots, looks like a lot of fun and great weather.

I have to say, the Twin Navion looks really good. I've never seen one before (photo or in person). I think I really like the look it has.

Congratulations Al, I still remember my first shoot and how exciting it was. Looks like a fun time.

Cheers,

Eric

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

Nice! Never seen a twin Navion. Didn't even know they were made.
