Probably in about 10 years, whenever they settle all of the political and in-fighting in PNG.

Cool, so now Swamp Ghost, after it's pristinely restored, can be sold back to PNG, who can then put it on outside static display in front of their National Museum. Sounds like a win-win situation.
If PNG can't afford to repay the $100K that was paid to them some time ago for SG, what makes you think they will be able to pay a couple million of today's dollars for it after it is restored?

OK! It's been two weeks since the last post. Does anyone know anything yet? When does it get to the States? Where?

Restoration

Wed Oct 01, 2008 6:20 am

You might find someone to restore it or realy it will be a Replica you wouldn't use anything. It's just a patern.
But if it was a static display you could use some parts.
I was told this aircraft was basicly taken apart with an axe.Now i don't know how true that is but if it is the case what skins are you going to restore.

Looking the pictures, it appears that the axe was there, but left in the tool box. There is a photo of a firewall where you can see that the engine mount was unbolted from the airframe. Also what I can see of the fuselage mounts it appears that the wings were unbolted from there as well.
